No Flying

I haven't flown since mid-May.  That's when the construction started at the Hoyt north field.  The south field is not as easy to fly from due to the tree line in the background.  The trees makes it harder to see the heli or plane when flying below the treetops.

The very last time I flew I crashed my 230 due to a gyro calibration issue.  I should have re-booted the gyro, but I was being lazy.  On a pass in front of myself the heli banked and dove at the ground so fast all I could do was hit the hold switch as it hit the ground.  The damage isn't too bad.  Looks like a stripped main gear, broken tail prop, lost dfc link.  The blade grips were intact!   But, I haven't felt like fixing it since then.

No More Flying at the Hoyt North Field :(

Construction started on the Hoyt Park north field back in May 2020!  This was the best field to fly from on Sunday mornings!  It was also the most open, with no tree line on the far side.  I should probably renew my membership at the Sea World field, as it may become the only place I can fly?  I would join Palomar, but the membership is so expensive!  I would need to fly there every weekend to justify the cost.
